Well I had a scare yesterday with Maggie-May :( . I got the dogs out in the morning like always and was sitting in the living room eating when Maggie pee's on the floor. My first reaction is mad and scolding and I yelled at her to go on her time out (her crate) and she did. Then as I go down to clean it I notice some red on the carpet  . At first I think maybe its just an old stain but when I touch it it gets on my fingers......blood! Maggie shouldn't be bleeding she is spayed. So I had to wait and watch her until around two and my mom got home so I could use the car. Our vet is just down the road not even a 10 minute walk and a shorter drive. But of course with out an appointment I had to sit there for two hours while everyone else with appointments went ahead of me.
I considered the fact it might be a urinary tract infection but I still wasent going to chance it. Finally Maggie and I were called back. As the vet checked her over he said that she had a temp of 103 :( . He also said that the bleeding was just and infection but it could be caused by one of three things. She could have stones in her bladder,or she could have an infection caused by her severly short docked tail. OR when she had the C-section back in the summer and was spayed in the some process they took her ovaries but left her urterus. Since she is a bit pot bellied it could most likely be the last.
We also found that she is having an allergic reaction to something and she got a shot. She got more ear drops also because of long term ear canal damage. Her ears are pretty much full of scarr tissue and ulcers. So she gets special ear drops for that. She also is on some pills for her infection. She is due back on the 26th of this month for a check up. I also need to get in contact with her former vet and ask about the surgery that was performed on her this summer.
My poor girl :( . This is a perfect example of what you get from a puppmill situation. A dog who was bred just to be bred and thrown to the wind when she stopped being useful. I feel terrible for my girl.
