pyrantel pamoate is "safe" for pregnant or nursing females.... It is sold over the counter. It kills rounds and hooks.... If tapes are the problem you would need something else. :)

I dont know what they are she is a stray dog around where i work and we arent sure if shes preggers or just has worms. So we were gonna try worming her then see what happens.

I always checked for worms before breeding as I wouldn't worm a preggie dog ... ( back then , things were different ).

You can use safeguard or panacur to worm her and most feed stores sell it.They both can be done on pregnant dogs.

be aware that she can STILL transmit worms to the pups...in fact it's likely. Even regularly wormed bitches can have puppies with worms. Roundworms encyst when a bitch is preggers, and activate when they're whelped and she is nursing, if not before that and they infect the pups then.
This is why I always start worming at 2 weeks. I waiting til 4 weeks once and had some wormy pups. My bitch did not have them...but her pups did!

Lol, I just thought the same thing. First I got confused, then excited when I saw Julie post, then I looked closer at the date.
