I have a westie who is just over 4 months old. I took him to the vet after I got him 3 weeks ago and found out that he had Coccidia. The vet gave me Albon for him and it seemed like he started to get better. His stool was harder and he didn't go as frequently, that was for about 2 weeks. Then he went back to the vet and found out that he also has a urinary tract infection. The vet then gave me UT Strength which is a supplement for urinary tracts. I also had the vet reexamine his stool for the Coccidia and he said that he saw more parasites this time but that this was expected because I guess they strat to break out. But ever since he has been taking the supplement for his urinary tract infection, he has had bad diarrhea and I was wondering if it could be from the supplement or from the Coccidia even though it seemed like he was getting better. Has anyone ever seen Coccidia progress and then regress?

it "could" be from the antibiotic he's on for the UTI, but it could also still be the coccidia..

Coccidia is really hard to get rid of, for example, say he pooped in the yard stepped in it, and licked his feet, he can re-infect himself (or other dogs)
It's VERY contagious.

Personally I'd call your vet, tell him the above, ask him if he should be on the albon longer/another round,,etc

Good luck!
