View Full Version : Do I have a Labradoodle?

Hey, our family just picked up a stray back in December and we're unsure if it's a Labradoodle or not. She's been to about 3 vets for grooming, shots, ect. and all have said different breeds. Labradoodle was mentioned, and I personally think she is one. What do you think?:

Definitely looks the part. Lab/Poodle mixes are rarely consistent because so many people breed willy nilly first generation, so there's not much to really compare to for sure.

Aw glad you saved her! She does look like a lab/poodle cross. Could be anything though! :)

Aw, what cutie! I definitely see poodle in the first picture just by the way she's standing and I see the lab in the second one so good chance she's lab/poodle mix.

Hmmmmmmmmmm........if not ...it could be schnauzer/poodle .

Could be, I had one in class and he looked just like that...never even thought of that Grammy. He was a giant schnauzer/std. poodle cross named Bo and he was black too.

I'm not really seeing the labrador in her, although there might be some. The close-up of her face almost looks like a bit of German wirehair pointer. The first photo does have a poodlish appearance.
I'd say poodle mix, but the "mix" part could be a whole lot of things. One of the problems with this "doodle" fad is that there's little consistency in mixing of breeds so even if it happened to be a purebred lab mixed with a purebred poodle (or even a lab/poodle mix bred to another lab/poodle mix) you can get a lot of different looks to the offspring.
Glad you've taken her in and I hope you enjoy her thoroughly! About how old do you think she is? Was she already spayed or is that something still coming up?

Honestly looks more like one of the German wirehaired breeds, but she could be a labbiedoo. She's very cute at any rate; have fun with her!

Emmy is 8-9 months old, and we had her spayed shortly after getting her(sometime in late December).
The picture of her face my be throwing some of you off, because I forgot to mention that we had her "beard" trimmed because it was holding alot of water after she got done drinking water. Before being trimmed, her faced looked almost exactly like this:

When I was a kid we had labbouv's. Or Lab/bouvier mixes. Spider and Shadow, Both wonderful and awsome dogs. This pup looks like Spider. Wow has time flown by. I believe I was 10 years old when we had them.
