...why there is not a Colliepoo, or a labracollie. I told him that most Collie breeders probably wouldn't allow the breed to be mixed for integrity reasons. Anybody care to respond?

Actually, there are according to dogbreedinfo.com
Meet the Cadoodle- http://dogbreedinfo.com/c/cadoodle.htm
And the Gollie- http://dogbreedinfo.com/gollie.htm
Both recognized by the ACHC
They also have a sheltie/collie 'hybrid' called a Cosheltie. Anyone have a reason for mixing a collie and a sheltie? Why not just get a small collie or a large sheltie?

All One Has To Do To Find Any Of These So Called Designer Breeds Is To Go To A Shelter !!!!!!
They Have Been Around Long Before It Was " Cool" And Because Now That Some Jerk Face Thought Of A Way To Market A Mutt There Will Be A Great Many More !!!!!
Please Educate Your Children To The Fact That This Is Not A Good Thing And Never Will Be !!!
This Is Something We Need To Try To Stop Not Encourage.

Ok the cadoodle is sort of cute BUT the Gollie...? I mean why cross those two breeds? I thought the reason for making the hybrids was to create more non-shedding varieties of dogs for allergy sufferers! I mean I know goldens shed similar to labs and our lab sheds quite a bit and I can only imagine that collies shed probably the same! There is no way that I would spend any more than an adoption fee on any of those dogs though.

Well, the one 'Gollie' is from the humane society. I still can't figure out the Cosheltie though. It'd just look like an oversized sheltie!

My brother has a Colliador (Collie/Labrador) at she (Kelly)is a great dog. However it was a puppy on its way to be drown by a cruel farm woman and my sister-in-law rescued her.
Tell the kids that there are lots and lots of homeless dogs with no homes and that breeding dogs just for fun or money is wrong and that is why there aren't breeders for every combination.
Then maybe show them how many wonderful breeds already exist
What's the point?
And I believe that many of those pictures/profiles of hybrids on dogbreedinfo are merely people who have the shelter mutt and wanted to feel special.

i can't believe people just do this!
soemone that my mum met walking has a dog, he's lovley looking but they introduce him as a "groodle" mum said "ahh, a poodle, golden retriever" and the owner said "oh, you know about this do you?"
its sad
i see real potential in poodle/labradors. but we need more decent breeders that understand the 2 breeds and do it properly.
