If you do I want pics, info on the dog, training tips for the breed, and info on the breed in general. After meeting an Italian Greyhound up close and in person I really like the breed and when I move out would like to possible get one (I think they would get on well with my mini poodle) And anyone in western canada, especially alberta, where did you get your IG?(I can't find any breeders in alberta and few elsewhere in canada) How much did he cost? How good was the breeder? Did the breeder have champion show dogs? What info did they send you home with? Did you have to sign up and wait a while for a dog to become available or did they have a bunch of pups available at all times? Would you buy a IG from them again? And anything else about the breeder you can think of. THanks!!

I don't, but really like them.

In the future I plan on owning one :D.

I don't know if anyone on here does... I mean, I'm sure someone does, but I don't know of any active members with them.

It's amazing how few breeders and owners there seem to be, yet they are such cute gorgeous dogs.

I used to ride horses for some people that had 2. Very funny little dogs.. one eventually ended up getting picked up by a hawk :(

One of the trainers I used to work with has 3. She has begun them all in agility and are doing fantastic. They're sweet little monsters. Her biggest complaint, and mine from when I took care of them: impossible to housebreak. The female is maybe 90% housebroken but the two males could care less no matter what. She even tried paper training them (which at the training center was highly frowned upon) and they wouldn't even take to that! She has to keep them in the bathroom during the day when she's gone and fully line it with paper because it's easier to clean, and if she crates them they'll roll in it so at least in the bathroom they can stay away from it if they choose.

I wish they weren't so difficult to housebreak because I'd love to have a mini-Wally!

Thanks for the replies guys. Ya I had heard they were difficult to house train but till now I hadn't heard that some weren't able to be taught at all. I won't be getting one till after I take my dog Trainers course starting in April so hopefully after that I will have enough knowledge to make the best attempt at it.

This sparks my interest on the topic of regular Greyhounds. I love their temperments and I think they are so beautiful. I heard that they sleep like 15 hours a day..is this true???

Some friends of ours had two Italian greyhounds (one recently passed from cancer). They're cute little dogs. Extremely speedy and athletic, too. I don't know much about training, but they had very sweet temperaments and loved everybody.

Thanks guys. I can't believe that nobody on these forums actually owns IGs. I have posted this on another forum to and one person said that they thought someone on the forum had IGs but that person has not posted on my post and i don't know who it is. It's frustrating when you want to learn as much as possible and nobody knows it.

Sorry off topic but someone mentioned my fav breed.

No not at all its more like 24 if you let them :p really they are very laid back, incredible gentle, dont need huge amounts of exercise and much prefer a large sofa to roach on.
