I did. And I also read the part about non of their dogs being champions and all being "pet" quality. I don't know too many people that spend ten grand to purchase their pets from non existent lines

Yuck. Ever see Texas Teacups? That one is AWFUL. They explain how they do not breed appleheaded chihuahuas (breed standard) because of their "health issues" and how they are "ugly" =/ They breed for deerheaded ones. The real reason is that they are breeding for tiny puppies, and appleheaded chis are built like little tanks... so even when they look smaller, they actually weigh more. Deerheads on the other hand have lighter bones, skinnier, easier to have them weigh less (even though they will in most cases look bigger than an applehead of a heavier weight). On top of that, they breed tiny bitches, and it is easier for them to birth deerheads because of their sloped snout and lack of a dome shaped head.
I hate BYB's, and I wish that all breeders would breed to the standards :( Breeders like this are ruining our breeds.

^^^ Wow, I read their teacup statement, and all I have to say is UGH! Oh, and what is ACA by the way?

You can ask whatever you want to ask, that doesnt mean you will get it. Anyone who spends 10,000 on one of her dogs is a complete & utter moron when you could go and get a good quality show Yorkie for a lot less than that.
Using a coke can to size the dogs?
I will say more, she looks to be a puppy mill, she also has poodles, Doxies, Chis, Poms, Maltese...
"No refunds after we complete payment transaction, deposits are non-refundable." --so good luck if your dog is sick, not their problem.
What makes me the angriest is at the bottom they have "rescued dogs" which are just more dogs they are breeding. Hopefully someone will shut them down soon.

^^^Shut them down... and hurt America's great smalltime farmers?! Why would anyone ever do a thing like that

Jessie.. I haven't seen Texas Teacups.. but I'm going to look them up now! It's so sad that people do this. I consider all my dogs 10 lbs and under *small* dogs. To be honest I'm not sure I would want a dog that weighed 1.8 lbs at maturity.

^^^ My smallest chi weighs 3.5lbs (Rylie) and I think that she is TINY! I'm not sure if I would want one smaller than 3lbs. My largest (Madison) weighs 6.5lbs, and he is still a really small dog.

Awe how cute! Emma my jrt/yorkie was 2.5 lbs at 8 weeks and now she's 7 full grown and I think she's small too! She has a very muscular jrt style body but she's got the small frame of a yorkie.. she's a goof :)
I looked at the texas teacups sight and ew ew ew. Just because they have celebrity clients, I'm sure people buy from them :( In one of the celeb pics a girl was holding her new chi baby and she just looked soooooo tiny.

It's just so sad :( That is where Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie bought their dogs from =/
I hope that this "fad" for tiny dogs dies out soon. People always ask me if Rylie is a "teacup," and if Madison is a "standard."
A girl I know bought a "yorkie" from Petland 7 years ago... he weighs 25lbs full grown, and has a ton of health problems. I really hate BYBs and puppy mills.

I always worry because Bentley was bought from a pet store.. it might even be Petland... I worry that he might develop issues down the road.. but all I can do is feed him the best food, take him to all his vet visits and hope for the best.
Emma was purchased from a couple who had occasional litters from their two dogs...my only comfort with that is that the family was very knowledgeable, and the mom and dad dog seemed very healthy and happy.
Then Lula Sean bought from a kennel without me knowing. I have no idea where she came from but had horrible kennel cough immediately and racked up quite the vet bill on her first day home.
I'm fortunate that I wasn't one of the horror stories where puppies get sick within weeks of having them. It just makes me so mad whenever I see these dogs being turned out one after the other and purposely being bred so tiny.
It's funny because Lula and Bentley both have under bites and Emma is the only one w/perfect teeth.. nice and straight.
Anyhow, I'm rambling :)

My boy is 5lbs (was a little heavier but he's lost weight becaus of his health) and he's so small. While I know he's at the larger end for a Chihuahua I still can't believe people want dogs that are around 4lbs smaller than him.
But I guess these people don't really want dogs anyway, they just want stuffed toys and fashion accessories. *sigh*

Just FYI-
Be careful in comments about this guy. I have been told that hethreatened to sue several people for comments on forums; for whatever that's worth. Don't know if he ever did but...

I didn't know you could sue people for stating an opinion :)

he cant sue for an expressed opinion.
he could sue if he could prove slander (saying stuff about him specifically to hurt his reputation as a person) but since noone has said anythign specific about him, just general comments about byb's and how discusting such pracitces are theres no basis.
(at least thats about as close to an english version of my laywer frineds rant as i can muster lol)

Hehe Grammy :D They said they don't care about breed standards either... just about breeding the smallest dogs they can =/
^^^ Madison came from a BYB... he is almost 2 now, and *knock on wood* doesn't have any health problems. I never saw his parents, and he was the only puppy for sale... he was in a rubbermaid tub full of cedar shavings. I didn't know anything about buying dogs at the time... and we felt horrible for him (he had ear mites and wasn't in a good situation). He has a deer head (out of breed standards), bow legs, floppy ears... lol.
After that, we researched breeders, and both of my girls came from responsible breeders. Rylie is only 3.5lbs, but she is built like a little tank ;)
I've seen some small chihuahuas who just look so frail (especially the deer headed ones... since they have longer legs and longer bodies).
