LONDON, Ont. -- A 68-year-old London, Ont., man has his two pet pit bulls to thank for thwarting an overnight home invasion.
Tony Therrien says was working at his computer around 1 a.m. New Year's morning when he heard a knock at the door to his apartment.
He was surprised to see a stranger in a mask, along with a second man waiting in the hallway.
The attacker knocked Therrien to the floor, but that's when Phoebe and Rusty came to the rescue, attacking the two men.
The surprised intruders then fled on foot, leaving Therrien with minor injuries.
Police say they are looking for two men, both believed to be in their 20s.

There was a story like this around here although the lady never filed a police report (although I told her she should have) so it was never in the paper.
A foster for our group agreed to take a pit bull mix to foster. A couple weeks ago she emailed me and told me that someone had tried to break into her house the night before and the dogs (she also had a dog) scared them off. It's like Amber was paying her back.
It's kind of sad when you think that someone had surrendered this girl to a high kill shelter, where very few pits are rescued or adopted.
Needless to say, the pit bull mix foster is no longer a foster dog, the "foster mom" adopted her :)

These are the kind of stories we need to hear more about, especially for the pit bulls.

Excellent and am glad you posted it. It shows the dogs are good but I fear some will not see it as such.
Added point I have always told people that if someone were to break in here and try to do me harm if you make it past Whiskey and then past my 357 mag then do with me as you will because you have earned the right ! lol

Great story! I guess these guys didn't "scope out" the house to well, or maybe they haven't heard about the "pitt bull rep" :lol-sign:
My motto is very similar AR! It would have to be one determined criminal huh?
And quite honestly, we have some pretty nice things, my jewelry collection is pretty fair...............but I doubt we have anything worth all the trouble that would rain down on them! :)
But, there is a sucker born every minute :lol-sign:
