Again, another question for experienced breeders...
I have a male pug who is neutered and everytime I have had a bitch come into season, he has detected it about a week or two in advance. He follows the bitch around sniffing her almost constantly and acting very interested. Once she starts to come in and actually bleed then he continues to sniff and lick to the point he has to be kenneled to catch his breath.
This time however, Alice has come into season and he has shown no interest what-so-ever. Not even an occasional sniff. She is about 1 week into her season. He gave me no preliminary signs that she was about to come in and still has not noticed or cared. Is this a sign that she is possibly not fertile?
On another note, he does seem very interested in my bulldog puppy who is due to come in anytime. Could he be distracted by one bitch and not the other?
