Dremel how to use??

I would love to have some advice and tips on how to use a Dremel correctly for nail trimming. I have used nail clippers but they are just not doing the job well enough (I trim nails once a week!!). My one dog's biggest fault is 'hare' feet and the nails grow quickly, therefore the quick is long. I need to shorten up the nail and have been told that using a dermel works best. Any advice of how often and how would be greatly appreciated.
