Yay I'm so proud of Duke, this sunday was his graduation from puppy manners and obidence and he passed with flying colours Over the last 6 weeks Duke has mastered sit from a standing position, sit from a down position, down from a standing position, down from a sitting position, sit-stay for up to 45- 60 seconds as well as being able to take 20-40 steps backwards, down- stay for 10 seconds or 5 steps backwards, high-five, paw, recall, look, heel and he's almost mastered take a bow and crawl.
Their were 10 other puppies in his class ranging from shitzu's to black and golden labs and Duke was the only mixed breed however he caught on the fastest and for a 4 month old puppy im impressed with his strong desire to learn/please.
Since gradutating we've since become on learning, "roll over" and increasing our sit-stay and down-stay times as well as switching up the order of the little obidence trials we play with him to keep him stimulated.
I still can't believe I lucked out with such a smart puppy and he's been nothing short of amazing ecpecially since he's my first dog. I just got pet insurance yesterday and am still waiting for it to take full effect but he will be neutered as soon as he hits 6 months and then at 7 were going back for normal obidence class and then once he's a year try our luck at agility as he has such a strong desire to learn/ be doing something with a purpose. That and he already knows "through" for the tunnels and "over" for jumps.
Anyways here's my little smarty pants with his certificate:)
