Dog terror leads to jail for owner

A DOG owner who flouted an anti-social behaviour order and allowed his violent pets to attack other animals has been jailed.

Stephen Cuff, 43, of Cow Fen Drove, Swavesey, was found guilty at Cambridge Magistrates' Court and sent to prison for three months.

He was given the ASBO in March following complaints about his behaviour. There were reports he allowed his dogs to be out of control and attack people and animals, and that he used abusive language and threatening behaviour.

Sgt Mark Rabel, said after the case: "This is a result that should provide some reassurance to the local community of Swavesey.

"It also pays tribute to the local officer, Pc Alison Jones, in following up the reported breaches and, just as importantly, to the local community for being brave enough to provide the evidence to secure the ASBO in the first instance.

"Anti-social behaviour should not, and will not, be tolerated and the police and local authority will take action when reports are received."

Neighbours worked with police and South Cambridgeshire District Council to secure the order, which said he must not cause harassment, alarm or distress to residents of Swavesey or any other community he may move to, including using threatening or abusive language.

It also said he must not allow any dog under his control to leave his property unless it was accompanied by an adult, on a lead and muzzled.

But magistrates heard that Cuff flouted the conditions by allowing his dogs to roam and attack other animals, and he continued to shout during the day and night.

RSPCA inspector Chris Nice, told the News: "These are American bulldogs - a breed known for its propensity for violence.

"The Government has thought about banning these dangerous animals but has so far not done so.

Not sure what is with the caption under the bull dog though, unless that is the dog that actually was owned by this person.

I have to laugh at the antisocial comment, plenty of people are anti-social and not dangerous to society :D I hope my neighor does not complain when I tell them they cannot have a cup of sugar :lol-sign:
