Someone in Surrey is pretending to be the SPCA and trying to seize dogs on the society’s behalf.
Full story: canada.com
People are being confronted by people claiming to be B.C. Animal Rescue and Control and they are saying they are working with the SPCA and the city. They are trying to take the dogs from their owners saying they were not providing proper shelter for the animals. They are leaving a letter with the City of Surrey's address on it and it tells the owners they can have no contact with the dog and could be charges of animal cruelty placed upon them.
The SPCA is advising people that they are not connected with these people and if anyone is being contacted by them to call the SPCA.
The good side of this is no one handed over their dogs to these people. I am glad of this, would hate to think what these people want with these animals.

Honestly I cannot say I blame people for taking action into
there own hands if the actions are warranted. They where
just leaving notices according to this to try and get the
people to understand the seriousness of the issue. Its pretty
clear they never tried to actually take the dogs.
I think it's probably because most people who take the animal
officer more seriously than just a person leaving them a note.
