Hiya guys

I just wondered how do I do this? renaming links. I want to put my vid clip of my furkids under my sig, but I can't for the life of me remember how to rename it, for example MyFurkids, or The Zoo. Am I making sense? I can upload and add the link no probs, but it looks weird having this huge long link of the vid, when it would look much neater if I can rename it.

I've seen links posted before with normal names lol so was wondering if any of you clever people can jog my memory.

All you have to do is press the button above the text box, it looks like a small blue ball (or a small earth) with a chain link in front of it. After you do that you just paste your link and a long thing will come up with around it.

You will see your link (the "http://www.whatever.com") show twice within this code. Go to the second time it's written and delet it and enter whatever you want the link to show in it's place..

It will highlight the spot you should erase and put whatever text you want in! :) Make sense?

Just to add, I want to keep it there permanently..i understand what you're saying but can I still do the same in my info options? I mean can I still do the same in the signature edit part??

****..when I click that little ball, then I paste my link..click ok/enter it pastes the entire http thingy..It's not coming up double as you said so I can rename it...

You want it to be in your signature right?

Yeah, in that case you do the same thing. GO to User CP, then to "edit signature".

There should be a button that looks like a small earth with a link in front of it. Click on it and it will tell you to paste the url (the http://www.something.com) and you paste it there and click "Ok".

Then it will show up as something like this withoutht the red *** in it...[U**RL="http://google.com"]http://google.com[/URL]

Then you delete this part the blue:

[U**RL="http://google.com"]http://google.com[/URL]

and put in any word you want to show up...such as GoogleFinder or whatever and come out with something like this:

googlefinder (http://google.com)
