He saved our lives but unfortunately we can not keep him. To many things for a small house. Our kitchen caught on fire and he woke us up at 530 am to let us know the smoke dectors werent working and the stove caught was on fire. Also 65mph winds, 32* weather and the truck dies on the highway. He craws outa the back where he was a sleep and layed on/with the kids to keep them warm. Very loyal and protective will stay beside you at all times. Sleep in your bed, sit by bathroom door til your done. You will get him, his papers, his heart worm prevention pills, leash, collar. Please help us find a home who has more time and space then we do to give this loving dog a home. 200.00 firm, no shipping, no scammers please.

He saved out lives but unfortunately we can't keep him? Doesn't sound as if they deserve him.

"Too many things for a small house."
What's that mean?

It means her couch and coffee table are more important than the dog that saved her life.

Arg...I thought so. What a horrible person. Her dog has a bigger heart than she does.

I would love to email her and tell her if you coffee table was in the way we would gladly get someone to pick it up. After all she needs the room!

I think Skyeboxer said it perfectly ... "they don't deserve him"
That's wrong on so many levels...
I hope he finds a deserving home!!

A friend of mine bought a house that he couldn't really afford because of his dog - she needed more space! So now he works to pay a mortgage so that his little muttlove can be more comfortable! :)
I've never understood those ads either which say "Unfortunately we can't keep her because we're moving." Moving?? Where to, China?!?! (and even that doesn't count if you already live in China.) Odd priorities...

Poor dog, what a reward for saving their lives and loving them so much.

Give the people the benefit of the doubt. There are legitimate reasons for rehoming dogs, we all know that, and the only reason we're irritated here is because of the heroic behavior. The problem is, a heroic dog isn't neccessarily easy to live with every day. They say he's 'very loyal and protective' - that often translates to a dog who is overly territorial and difficult to own. Notice they don't emphasize how great the dog is as a pet - they mention the heroism, the protectiveness, the qualities of a good guard dog, not a great family dog. That's great if you can handle him, but if you can't, it's better to rehome. Otherwise the next news story about this dog could be "Former Hero Dog Bites Child."

Those are good points too, Casa.

I honestly don't know why everyone's freaking out. **** happens, and you get stuck in a rut in life, and all of a sudden you're having problems feeding your kids, nevermind keeping a dog.
It sounds legit, and its perfectly understandable. At least they're trying to find the dog a good home rather than just dropping it off somewhere.

nobody is "freaking out"... we're all calm here, lol...
If it were just about finding the dog a good home, would we've thought twice about it?... I'm not so sure selling a dog for two-hundred dollars is rehoming responsibly, or perfectly legit.
Dogs are a responsibility...

They are a responsibility. And if they already had a dog for this long, I don't think its something they're just throwing away considering how proud they are of his accomplishments.
But seriously, if you just lost your job or something, what would you chose first? Your kids? Or your dog?
The $200 dollars does seem suspicious. But I can understand the reason behind it. If they paid a good sum of money for the dog, I can understand wanting something back from it. Also, someone who's willing to pay $200 dollars for an older animal kinda shows that they're serious about it, y'know?
I dunno, that's how I see it. Coming from a very very low income family, I find it easy to understand this situation.
