My little Emma is 1/2 Russell and 1/2 yorkie. She's inherited the JR legs and the yorkie fur and face :). She has these long hairs that are above her eyes that I'm assuming will grow so that I'll be able to do a top knot, but right now they're just too short to tie up. The rest of her fur has grown really quickly but not that part!!
I'm wondering if I should give up on the idea of bows in her hair and trim it shorter so it isnt always flapping in her eyes. She's 5 1/2 months now... i've heard it can take a while for their hair to grow.

It depends really..... If you go to yorkie.org you can go to the pictures page, (I believe that's it...) and it will show you pictures of the hair at different ages. Do you have pictures of her? My dixie is 8 months old, and her hair isn't very long, but this is from breakage. I've been grooming her wrong. I can put a top knot in hers though. Here's a picture:

This is just after combing her, and I'd sprayed her with water, so she's damp, but you can see a little bit of the length at 8 months. Good luck with her!!! :)

Has she ever had her hair cut before? Also, what are you feeding her? She's really cute!!! :D

Thanks Dixie's Mom! I haven't had her hair cut. It's grown quite a bit since we first brought her home <3 She doesn't really have the yorkie coloring.. she's a mix of red, brown, white, black.. but the texture is very yorkie like :) Right NOW I'm feeding her Iams.. but I'm switching to Canidae this week :)

You're welcome! :D The canidae should help tremendously. :) Also, there's a chance that she's going to have a little shorter of a coat because of the JRT in her. Before we knew better we had a litter of Jack Russel/Silky Terriers and some pups ended up with completely smooth coats, and at least one that I know of has a long coat. So it's a gamble. :) Looks like it'll be long though. Good luck with her! She's a cutie as is Bentley! What breed is he? :p

Thank you! Yeah the person we bought her from had an older puppy there who had a totally smooth coat and the rest looked just like Emma!
Bentley is a yorkie-poo. He basically has the body of a bigger yorkie and the fur of a poodle. His fur grows like a weed so no problems there! Thankfully he loves to be groomed... which includes the bath, blow drying AND brushing so I really lucked out :)
I think all of your girls are beyond adorable! :)
