Love That Collie

Hi all,
I have 2 Rough Collies.
Bailey (male) is almost 20 months old, Chloe is 5 months old.
Bailey is sable and white and Chloe (aka Princess Prissy Pants:D ) is a tri-color.
I have had Collies for years.
Glad to have found this forum.
I know it will be informational and fun.

Hi Toscasmom and Zoom and thank you for the "welcome".
I don't run into all that many Collie owners, looks to be some here though.:)

I have a picture of Chloe on my "profile" page but for some reason the
upload fails when I try to put a pic beside of my screen name for the posts.
The pic isn't too large so I don't know what's up with that. :o

Yes, I have heard of Lisara.
I was researching some kennels in my area and boardering states and found it's website. They have some very beautiful dogs but I, myself prefer the Rough variety. Both of Bailey's parents are Milens dogs and Chloe's sire is a Hawk Eire dog and mother is Armitage (Armitage was formerly Tomelle.) Both sire's are champions and Bailey's mother is major pointed, don't know if she ever finished. Chloe's uncle is "Ch. Twin Acres Patrick Henry (littermate of Chloe's dam) Patrick has been shipped off to Europe to help improve their collie's soundness and confirmation, I guess Europe is having a bit of trouble with their lines at this time. Patrick is one of the most stunning Collie's I've ever laid eyes on. :)

a freind of mine had one. i feel in love with the breed about 5 years ago. finally decided I wanted a sheltie 100% for sure, so thats what i got.

i just prefer a sheltie to a collie as far as looks. i love that kind face. but i like a collies personallity better. i would hate to fit a collie, a hubby, and two rabbit in a 400 square foot studio apartment :) shelties just fit me better

Welcome LoveThatCollie!

Where are you located? You sound very much like someone I know in Florida ....

My family has been raising both Rough and Smooth Collies since the 1960s, but I got my first smooth in 1978 and never went back! My last rough died in 1994 and I've had nothing but smooths ever since.

Help!
Sasha - 11 years old female has been chewing at doors and breaking glass in an attempt to get out while I am away. Seems like separation anxiety and it getting me very worn out. I am ready to put her on tranuilizers.

Any suggestions?

HI ......
Colliewog, sorry I didn't answer you sooner. I didn't see that more were welcoming me still at that time. :D My apoligies.

That's great that the family has been raising Collies for that long. You have probably had much fun over the years with a great many of them! I know I would have!

No, I don't live in Florida but I used to until I was 6 years old, which was a lonnng time ago. Most of my family resides there though, including Dad.

I reside in WV, on the WV/Ohio border.

I guess that combination of colors and sexes is common! lol The pair I'm thinking of are a sable male and tri girl, and the boy is named Bailey as well. ;)
