Babysitting Dog Tries To Protect IN Child

Police say one of two dogs entrusted to babysit a boy, used her maternal instincts to try to protect the boy from the second dog's attack.
Six-year-old Bamba Niang was at his Merrillville home - alone - on October 19th when he was bitten several times by the family's two-year-old male Rottweiler.
The boy told police he ran to his bedroom and the dog bit him again.
He says the female dog tried to save him.
Bamba is recovering from his injuries at a Chicago hospital.
Bamba told police he was playing kickball with the dogs, when the male dog suddenly turned on him and knocked him down.
Details of the conversation will be included in a report that eventually will be presented to the Lake County prosecutor's office.
Prosecutors will decide whether the boy's parents will be charged.
