I dont anything about the vets in your area, I was curious because I was raised not far from Sturgis (just off IN border). I would think you could find a good vet in Detroit or dearborn.
Good luck in your search. I'm sure you will have no trouble finding a good vet in those areas.

You might ask around to people you know or meet who have dogs. Get them to talk to you about their experiences with vets. And there's nothing wrong with getting on the net and looking up vets in your area, learning what you can there, and then calling them to get more in-depth information and perhaps even seeing them in their offices.

Sorry, I don't know anyone in your area either. Who do the breeders you're getting from go to ?? Also, look the vets up in the phone book near you and visit. You can tell by friendliness, smell, # of vets there etc. Also, when you find one or two you like, look them up on line...tells a lot of facilities.

i tried calling several and to be honest i felt they werent very helpful and treated me like i was stupid to ask how familiar with my breed is their vet or at least small dogs..... and for my first visit i cant use the breeders vet because i am taking her for an exam to make sure shes healthy and her knees are fine, kinda like a prepurchase exam only they give you 3 days to do it incase their is something wrong you can bring them back.... so thats where im at, i also know vets do this for a living and depend on the income but i dont want a place thats all about the prices and mula, i want someone whose more concerned with my dogs health  if thats possible. thanks!!!
