I trim the fur in between Lizzie's paws and I have used clippers in the past but it just does not get it done right! :(
Also on the back of her legs, right below her bottom she has some long fur on there and so I usually trim that too in the summer...with clippers again.
But it was REALLY bad this time...well not REALLY bad but it was not what I would like if we are going to start showing :)
What do I do?

I use thinning shears and regular scissors on everything for Tango. Even for her paws. You can use clippers on the paws, but I don't like to jsut because it's more convenient just to grab my scissors.
I also think it'd be a wise idea to start trimming her ears. It makes for a much cleaner, prettier look (not that Lizzie isn't already beautiful!).
Here's a grooming tutorial sort of thing that I went by when I first started with Tango (it's useful for the ears and paws mostly):

It's for Golden Retrievers, but it works on just about any breed. Just modify a bit. For example, I'd never do Tango's tail like they do the Goldens because Tollers shouldn't have their tails trimmed and shaped like that. For the feathering on the back and front legs I take my thinning shears and thin it out a bit and then I take my regular scissors to tidy it up and make it look appealing. I can't really explain how to do it without actually being able to show you somehow, so maybe someone else can. I'd take pictures or a video of my routine with her for you, but she just got groomed last night and won't be needing it again for a bit. Just remember, when you first start out doing anything when it comes to grooming, you're bound it make a mistake. Don't worry though. You'll get way better with time. I totally butchered Tango's ears the first time I tried (atleast I thought so anyway, nobody else noticed) but after a couple tries, they looked just as good as when she used to go to the groomer.

Mrose she is a mix but I can show in 4H! Just for practice and to get a feel for what it is like in the show ring!
Thanks Toller! I am going to look at that! :D
