:D I'm SOOOO excited!!! :) I want to do this right, introducing her to Dixie and Lucy, introducing her to the car, house, family members.....what are some good things to have on hand? So far we've got a Crate, collar, leash, shampoo, brushes, treats for training, and toys. When we pick her up, we're making a quick trip to petsmart to get her some t-shirts (we didn't get these before because we're not sure of her exact size) and her name tag. Anything else you guys can think of? The toys, and leash are from her house, so she has some stuff that will smell like home, and we'll put those around the house, and in her crate....we've made a plan on how to introduce her to the girls, anyone have better ideas? Here's what we've got so far....

When we get "Zoey" out of the car, I'm going to have my sister take her on her leash down the street, as I get the girls on their leashes, and take them out, and I'm going to have them meet on a walk. I'm not going to let them jump all over each other, and try to "dominate". I figure a nice walk would be good "first" interaction....plus the road won't be a territorial spot for Dixie and Lucy. We wanted to take the girls with us to meet Zoey, but we're worried that being out of their own home environment will make them nervous, and I'd hate for one of them to bite Zoey out of fear....Any imput?

I probaly should've posted sooner, but it only just dawned on me that WE'RE GETTING A PUPPY! TOMORROW! :lol-sign: Any help is appreciated. :)

I would meet at a park if possible. If you meet on a walk, they will think the dog is just a "stranger" and the bonding experience won't be as strong.

If you go to a park, let them play, they will get better aquainted, smell eachothers butts, let them know whos boss or whatever. That way they're free to express themselves without being on leash, and being too confined. It's neutral ground.

And I agree with not doing in their "territory" GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Dulce! Unfortunately, we live WAY out in the country (probably about 45min from a park). But we do have a 1 acre feild next door that the girls have rarely spent any time on....would that be alright? I was thinking about letting them run around out there anyway after the walk. :)

Yea! Good idea! Walking first, letting them establish their "pack mentaility" and then free play. Perfecto.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thanks Dulce! Little Zoey is finally here! She's such a sweetie! When we 1st introduced them they started growling at each other, but after the walk, and letting them sniff each other, we brought them inside, and all seems well. We still get a few growls out of them, but I think after Zoey gets all settled in, all will be well. :D
