Finally!!!!!! A good story about pits. Last night on the news they said that an elderly lady was walking down the street and a chow attacked her. A man in his house saw it, and started to call 911, and his two pit bulls ran outside and pulled the chow off of the lady! I didn't get to see the whole story, but that was the majority of it. The headline was like "2 pit bulls save womans life". I thought it would be nice to share that little bit of information.
Oh, thanks for sharing!! I love stories like this. This just goes to show, that Pit Bulls are not bad, vicious dogs, like so many people think they are.

Surprised they reported a story about pits doing something good. Too bad we don't hear more stories about the good things pits do.

finally good plublictiy(sp?) i just wish there would be more so that they didnt ban them so i can move to iowa lol not that i could anyway but thats beside the point lol
It just goes to show, you can't judge a dog just because he is of a certain breed. It is all in how they are raised. :)

That is so true, but when I showed this to the town cop he diden't think that pit bulls could ever help anyone.:( Thats the main reason why I don't like him.

I don't think that the media is ignorant, I think it's just their jobs to report what people want to hear. People don't care if a lab attacks somebody, so their not going to report it. But right now, if a pit attacks someone they are going to report it, because pits are in the news right now. So, I wouldn't put the blame on ALL the media. Our own Saje is a reporter and she has a job to do too. If she has to report on a pit bull attack, then she does. It's her job, not her personal opinions.

I think that's a wonderful story. And it is stories like that which will help. I wish there were more like it. Not to take away from the Pits, but here's a touching story about a Doberman, another one of those breeds that are so discriminated against:

Yeah I understand that....I didn't mean to offend anyone. I understand news is a buisiness and it has to compete with other news shows. If they don't report what gets people's attention then they would go out of buisiness, I completely understand that.

Pit-Bulls are very good dogs. If there trained to be visious of course they will be visious practically any dog if you trained it to be visious it would be visious.
Hope that cahnges some peoples mind.

Thanks dear. You are right. I do, do my job. But there are ignorant people, lazy people in all fields and this is definetly one. I've thought a lot about what I'd do if there was a 'pitbull' attack here. And the problem is that it's my job to report what people tell me and everyone here identifies everything as a pitbull. Seriously. There is a dog that I'm sure is a boxerX at the shelter and when I suggested it she said "maybe but he's definitely got pit in him" As a reporter I can question people on how they know it's a pit or get other opinions but it's not my place to tell people they are wrong because I can't put myself in the story. I'm glad there hasn't been a dog attack while I've been working. It's easy to blame the media but I think people in general are ignorant.

I wish I would have had my camera last night. My 7 year old nephew and Beulah were laying on the couch together all night. It was just the cutest thing. He kept sayiing, "Beulah loves me huh?" Yep, she sure does. If only people could see those pits. The friendly, sweet, loyal, and of course kid loving pits.

i said the media in england are ignorant! Trust me as soon as they see a Pit Bull or staffie or an ebt or any type of mastiff they wet thier pants or turn thier noses up at you! Some people with KIDS cross the road, even those these dogs are fantistic with children! The amount of times people have asked me whats dogs have u got, and I say 2 staffies and a lurcher, they all go oh staffies are nasty why have u got one, its just another name for a pit bull! I give them a staffie and pit speach on how wonderful these dogs are. All dogs can be nasty, its never the dogs fault its nasty it always down to an owner! No dog is born nasty, just like a human!

I had a guy ask me why I had a pit bull. I told him that I grew up with pits and I've always loved them. He said they were unpredictable. NOT TRUE! Then he actually asked if I was scared of my dog...Why would I be scared of my own dog? I told him that it was all in the way you raised them....End of story.

i love pitts :) pits are sweet it is the people how are hurting them how are making them mean ! its not the dog! people in OR are trying to get them band :mad: im from OR i have a pit im going to go protest mabe to get them to skeep them! im not going to give my sweet pit up just because some people are makeing them mean :mad: people are so DUM sometimse there taking it out on pits not the people like they shoud those people are hurting there name they are killing there name they are going to get the pits band from every country! some body needs to stop them ! im from OR and they are not going to take my puppy!!!
this is how sweet my pit is , my dog siters take him for away every day and they have a little kid ok the kids name is going to be 1 the dad is going to be12 ok so any ways 12 was walking him to the park and my pit was pulling and tuging because he wanted to play very badly so 1 graded hes coler and my pit stoped pulling he new that1 could not handle the pulling so he just walk right along and as soon as 1 let go he started to pull but when1 grabed him he stoped!!!! now how can you say thats a bad dog ! people that are trying to band them is not going to get him hes my baby boy! better yet hes my kid.
