Jenny has had ear problems for a while now. I told Liz I would post this in here because she has taken Jenny to the vet over and over and she keeps getting yeast infections in her ears.
Any advice on how to treat or prevent this from happening? I don't know much about it so any questions or comments are welcome. I can find out anything about her habits (if I don't already know it) that you need to know in order to help. Thanks everyone!

I can't help. I do know when I got Chip, his former owner said he had ear problems and he came with washes, drops, meds, etc. I've never had one problem with them. I do trim the hair around entrance of the canal and clean with cotton , but no real "problems". He does share my yogurt in the morning and does'nt really like to get his ears wet.....if she gets into the water a lot, make sure you dry them out. Poor baby!

She does love the water. But even though we all go to the creek, it is not deep so she is just running through it, not swimming. Hmmmm......

Yeast is often a systemic problem. What is Jenny eating?
I remember there being two or three threads about this with some good advice.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I'm taking care of the store while Charley's at the furniture show in High Point, and this evening this computer at home keeps freezing up on CompuServe and dropping me offline.

Here's a link to one of the threads: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1448
If you'll go to the 'Search' tool on the forum toolbar, click on 'Advanced Search' and type the term 'yeast infection' in the keywords box, then direct the search to this forum by highlighting it in the box with the forums listed, you'll turn up several threads on the subject and some of Mordy's sage advice.

I agree it might have to do with the food. Max had constant ear infections when we first got him. Once we tried switching to a better food, they cleared up.

She's a Lab, right?? They're more likely to have infections. My girl had one around a month ago. We went to the vet, got some meds for it and her ear is nice and clean now.
