Has anyone had any experience with this beautiful breed?
I'd love to have one in a few years time, I currently have a very different breed of dog a tibetan spaniel, though I have had experience with German Shepherds and Boxers.
I'm particuarly fond of German breeds and everything about this breed appeals to me.
I'd love to hear more about living/working and training this breed.

Hi falconry-fan! :) I don't have one myself but one of my father's close friends has a beautiful male at home...... he's taken him to obedience classes where he did extremely well. The only problem I see about that dog is that he's really, really dominant and won't back off. There was one incident when his owner gave him a command and the dog obviously didn't like it, so he bit him. It wasn't bad, just a warning, but still :yikes: ..... anyway, he took him to a personal animal behaviorist and they sorted it out. He did however say that if it happens again he should be PTS. :(

I love Giant Schnauzers and will have another one someday. My family had one when I was younger and he was an amazing, smart and beautiful creature. Completely different from any other sized schnauzer in temperment. Just an all around great dog if bred and raised properly.:)

my experience with them has been limited, but they seem to be a working breed, through and through.
