It's spring, and we're thinking about sprucing up the flower beds. Cocoa bean mulch is gaining in popularity, but if dogs have access to your flower beds you might want to read this article: http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=cocoabeanmulch

Renee, I heard about this a few years ago. A local nursery had a sign posted next to the cocoa mulch to not use near pets.

A simular thing happened to my neighbour, she put out processed Coconut husks as decorative mulch she took 4 hours to get it all spread out nicely between her plants and shrubs, and our other neighbours Lab rushed out and ate the whole lot in about 10 mins! Lol! The Lab was fine! The neighbour was very angry! :D
