not anytime soon!
i researched breeds for 5 years before i decided on a sheltie. I research, research, then research some more!
but something is on my mind. Pure breed show dog? Or just a pet mutt? I keep reading stories and seeing things about rescued mutts from shelters and it sounds great. Every dog needs a home, and sometimes i feel like its bad that i want to get on a long waiting list for a purebred dog when so many die in a shelter everyday.
I was wanting a dog to show yes, but i can handle any of the 26 dogs at the kennel and show them. of course not under my own kennel name, and they are not my own dogs, but who cares, i mainly wanted to handle anyway.
So maybe i will go to the shelter and just get a mixed dog with no pedigree.
who knows, maybe i will get on that two - three year waiting list for an azawakh?

since they are rare i of course couldnt find any rescues, much less one that is of great bloodlines that i can show. although it isnt recognized by the AKC, so i would have to travel ungodly distanced to even show him/her
just some food for thought. i am trying to decided, or start to decide anyway.
