The Adopt a New Member Project

Most of us know that we get a lot of new members here on Chaz. Some are old pros at forums but some are computer virgins and don't know about PMs, forum rules and lingo.

I thought it would be a cute idea for new members to post their names in this thread and older members could 'adopt' them. They would take responsibility for helping them get siggies installed, post pictures... that sort of thing. All the usual questions. Having someone to talk to can really help. I know I've spent a lot of time helping new members and so have others so it might be nice to have something semi-official...

So, if you are a new member and don't know what a PM, spam or OPs are feel free to let your name stand and we'll see who adopts you.

If no one steps forward to adopt by the end of the day one of the mods will come forward to answer all your questions.

I'd pitch in and help but I'm too darned dense. Been here a little over a year and only recently figured out that if you click on the little down arrow next to the subject line on the "New Posts" page it takes you to the last post you read. I think my learning curve bottomed out when I hit 40.
