what are all the purbred, small dogs that do not shed?

The rough coat Brussels Griffons don't shed. Of course poodles, schnauzers, havanese, yorkies. There are several low/non shedding small breeds. What kind of dogs do you like? Best to look at your lifestyle and then narrow down your options from there..:)

poodles do not shed!
remember though, if you want a dog that does not shed you have to be willing to spend money on grooming unless you learn how to do it yourself!

I want a calm relaxed dog. Our neighbor got a toy poodle from a breeder and she is the calmest thing in the world. she sleeps all day which i thought weird. She also hates wet grass.

Breeds that are low/non shedders include poodles, airdales, Affenpinscher, Italian Greyhounds, etc. Like Dr2Little said, how can we help you find a breed and what other preferences do you have for a dog?
Edit- size, space needs, affection level, etc.?

that might be caused by living in a kennel at the breeders since she was "born". I don't know.

It can also be due to training and proper excercise. My boys sleep all day too but then all their excercise requirements are met so when they are home they WANT to sleep lol They have also been trained to be calm and quiet inside (plus it helps that it is in a HUskies nature too).
Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso and Bichon Frise and I believe the Lowchen dont shed. As well as the affenpinscher, american hairless terrier, cesky terrier, chinese crested, coton de tuleur, glen of imaal, havanese, italian greyhound, maltese, manchester terrier, norfolk and norwich terrier, peruvian inca orchid, petit basset griffon vendeen, scottish terrier, sealyham terrier, westies, xolos, and yorkies. There are many others but these are the small breeds.

Yorkies don't shed. Of course, if you brush them, some hair will come out, but that happens when you brush me too. :D

I had a Bedlington Terrier for 15 years. They don't shed, although they are a little bigger than the toy breeds.
I will repeat someone above: Most non-shedding breeds require a lot of grooming. All those hairs that aren't falling out are getting caught up in the coat and produce mats. Medley went to the professional groomers for clipping every 6 - 8 weeks, and needed brushing every other day or so. Although I loved not having hair everywhere, I will never own another dog that needs professional grooming/clipping.
Coton de Tulears. :) Bichon Frise's too, any breeds in the Bichon family.

I have 2 toy poodles and neither one sleeps all day, lol.
I guess if they were never let out of their crate they would no other choice... but like ALL dogs they need exercise and want to play ALOT like normal puppies.

This poodle is a year old and sleeps all day. It's weird to me. i thought most small dogs were active. not her.
anyway, my mother said she wants to eventualy get a maltese. she saw one a breeder had that lived near us.

What about a Spoodle (cockapoo)? I know that is probably what we are getting due to the fact of my moms allergies!:)

havanese dont shed and dont require any grooming besides brushing adn they tend to be low energy.

I'll tell my mom about a havanese then. She'll like the fact that they are low energy.

The maltese is a no shed breed but does require regular brushing they are often kept in a puppy cut to make the grooming easier. I am owned by 2 of them. They don't require a lot of room for excercise. Mine love to fetch their ball and after a few runs their done for the evening. I am retired and home most of the time and both of mine sleep alot in the daytime my Macy is 3 1/2 yrs old and my Jazzy is 5 months old. They like to play outside but are definately house dogs.

i think the manchester terrier sheds. only the toy manchester is non shedding. they also dont require a lot of grooming (there is really not a whole lot of hair left to groom lol), same with italian greyhound and american hairless.
baily is a maltese and i havent found a single hair of him, ever. his fur matts easily though and the grooming can be a PITA at times.....but i really enjoy not finding hair everywhere (except for my own...)

We have Jessica, tiny toy poodle, and she d oesn't shed. Cost about forty dollars each month to have her groomed, sometimes sooner. Squirt, pitbull/boxer mix, doesn't shed, but she is a pretty good sized pup.:)

Please please do not support a designer breeder! These dogs have health issues, all sort of problems, but the whole idea of a mutt bred for profit is just so unethical. Everyone else mentioned various breeds of low shedding dogs, can't you get one of those actual breeds rather tehn support a backyard/puppy mill breeder?

since your not really set on a breed and you arent going to show and stuff
why dont you check out your local shelter
they are jam packed with poodle mixes now, and loads of them will be low shedding,

I, don't think our shelter would have poodles. Most people turn in large dogs that are strays, or dogs like labs, rottweilers, and some herding dogs. Its mostly hunting dogs around here. Our shelter used to be on petfinder, but now they ar not. They're not even a shelter. It's pretty much animal control. its what's in the phonebook.

What's wrong with a good old Poodle? ;)
EVERY dog sheds. It's more of a matter of how much! :) Our pug sheds, on a percentage basis, more than our GSD does. If he hops on your lap and gets down you are covered in little pug hair. If the GSD does the same thing, there is little hair left behind. Also, diet can have a lot to do with how much a dog sheds.

I know standard poodles are used to hunt. That's why they have the, uh, unique haircuts.:D Do they use toys to hunt? don't think they could hold a duck in their mouth or even carry it. The duck weighs as much as the dog does.:p Anyway, what i mean is there are a lot of labs, pointers and coon hounds around here. Not too many poodles. they wouldn't make it living outside.
I use petfinder, but it's not the problem of not having shelters( trust me i've counted, and still counting.stray dog problems), it's the problem of getting there. Our shelters around here don't do anything anyway. We don't want to drive too far. There are large dog breeders around here, but not too many that have small dogs, or any that i want to go to.

I don't know if I've already posted here or not. lol. :p Anyway, it all really depends on the actuall dog as far as energy goes. Yorkies are supposedly very hyper dogs, but Dixie's never been very hyper. She's active in that she likes to play with us, but as soon as we dont' want to play anymore, or we just want to relax, she's right there sleeping on our laps. Somedays we'll go on hikes up in our woods, and Dixie will be right there with us, but some days, we'll just sit around all day watching TV, and still Dixie's right there with us. She does what we do. She's an excellent dog. We also have a Silky Terrier mix who's a great dog, but she's alot more active than Dixie. We also have a Shih-Tzu who is probably the most laid back dog we have. She likes to go outside, and run around, but after a little while she's laying in the grass by our feet panting, and ready to go inside. If you want a non-shedder then I wouldn't reccomend a Shih-Tzu though. I asked before I got a Shih-Tzu if they shed or not, and I was told they do not, but Zoey definately sheds. Not a whole lot, but definately a lot more than our other 2 dogs. They don't shed at all. The only time any hair comes off of them is when you're brushing them. Good luck finding a dog!!!!
Neopit: Poodles of course are non shedding, but I can't think of any other non shedding big dogs except crosses.

I think sparrows would work..:D
oh wait- i would need to use my bb gun. there wouldn't be any bird left to eat if i used a bigger gun. Better go buy a sight.. glasses and a sight work better(can't see distance.) Can't hit anything either.:p
I can sure hit something with my cousin's gun.
