Now this is going way back. I was working for Audrey at the Poodle Palace. It was a long hot day. We had 30 dogs in that day. Now Betty, Brenda and I were just about finished when a individual called asking if we had room for another dog?
I asked her what breed of dog? She stated a Yorkie Poodle mix. I told her if she could get the dog in before 2.30 sure. But to pick the dog up as soon as I call her stating that the dog is ready. She said not a problem.
Doggie comes in I get all of her info. Owner leaves. Betty and Brenda gone home at 3.30 so that is not a biggy since I had to stay and clean up. So now the little dog is ready to go home at 4.00 p.m. I call the owner and she states okay on my way.
30 min's latter a Cabbie would walk in and state cab for Johnston. I at that time looked at my husband and he looked at me. No one called for a cab!
He said: Sure some one did. I told him I live next door to the shop there's no way I would call you and that is not my last name.
I then looked at the dogs card. Oh the pups masters name is Johnston. Not a big deal. Sir the dog does not leave if it is not paid for! He said I am not taking a dog in my cab and I am not paying for it either. I said then the dog will stay here and she will get a boarding fee on top of the groom. He said hang on I will call the office.
This poor cabbie came back in and went in such a solom way. I have to pay you for the dog and then get the money from the owner. I said good now I can go home. Off went cabbie and doggie. Did we ever groom that dog again. Nope never. The owner was caught in her scamming ways
