stupid pop ups..

Why is this site just riddled with those stupid annoying pops ups and advertisments??I mean, every time I come here, it takes forever for the computer to load it because it is blocking 10 different pop ups! Also, some are so difficult, one or two always get by. It has been like this for a long time now. Surely I am not the only one affected!

I have pop killer installed and I don't have a pop up problem. I might occasionally get one or two pop up every so often.. but that's it.

I'm afraid that nothing comes free these days.. Chaz has to have advertising, otherwise it couldn't sustain it'self without asking for member contributions.

I have a pop up blocker on my Google task bar that you can download free from Google.

I don't have any poup blockers and have only one popup everyonce in awhile at the main page.

I have pop-up blocker but I allow them from Chaz so I can click on links...The only advertisements I get are the ones on the main page...:confused:

you should install a pop up blocker... I have one and I hardly ever get a pop up

I don't think that you should be getting that many of them.. One or two is all you should get on this site. Do you get them at any other time? I've got a feeling you are probably getting pretty infested with spyware or malware. Especially if it's taking your system a while to load things..

The problem with pop-up blockers is that a lot of times all that they are doing is masking a bigger problem..ie spyware.

I'm glad I found this thread. I've been here less than ten minutes and I have gotten 9 tribalfusion popups. I sometimes get dozens when I go to different categories. I use several popup blockers and the best I can do is contain them in a group at the bottom of my screen, later I just click them closed as a group. If I add my firewall blocker, I stop them but I also makes it impossible to use my blog, which needs popups to post. The problem is tribalfusion is insiduous and notorious for finding ways to bypass popup blockers, and when they try to popup that actually pump up RAM usage. Each time a tribalfusion popup tries to hit my laptop, my fans start working overtime because their popups increase system usage. Tribalfusion is a horrendous system pusher.

This is one of only two sites I have the problem with and I figure that it's a way to keep the site financed unless we all want to write a check, also known as "the check's in the mail". But the tribalfusion ads are really an inconvenience. People really hate them and fastclick as they are very pushy and get in the way of trying to post. If you do a google on "tribalfusion" and popup, you will see pages upon pages of desperate people trying to get rid of them as fastclick, because of their ability to eventually bypass popup controls. They've even managed to infiltrate Firefox browswer, which means they work double time at it. As a matter of fact, I just went to "advanced mode" to view this post before I send it, and I got my 10th tribalfusion attempt.

If someone suspects malware or spyware, please download AD-AWARE and SPYBOT and run them regularly. If you have never done this, expect them to pick up a few hundred pieces of spyware on first try. But don't expect it to permanently get rid of the tribalfusion people permanently. But it WILL speed up your system in ways you never imagined and get rid of all those sites that have been monitoring your habits and messing with your settings.
