how do you get a smart mean sray cat out

we got a sray cat in our down stair and you can not get it because it will not come and it attack if you try to get it :confused:

Try useing a live trap with canned cat food in it. This aways works for me.

if all you want is him out..i would leave the door open (unless it is freezing outside) and take the dogs somewhere else..and be quiet..he will probably leave on his own accord..if not then maybe the spray water would work..i have seen a tomcat stand his ground against all odds. I have also had one flip over on my hand when i tried to physically remove him and scratch most of the hide off the back of my hand while injecting about a viles worth of poison under my skin..my fingers swelled up to the size of sausages and mom had to take me to the er where they cut my rings off, shot me up with antibiotics and made me soak it in hot hot water for three days. That was a bad one! Had another tomcat run in the house and thought he was going to stay..took a board to try to get him out of behind the bed when he sudddenly decided to stomp out..spring up and bury his nails in my thigh ..nice guy..so be careful. the last cat that ran into my door had already swallowed the basketball and delievered kittens before morning. oh boy!

I know what you mean Smkie, my Mum was attacked by a cat too!! She had to have 10 stitches in her arm and hand! She was trying to shoo a cat away that was attacking our old cat Dudley. It attacked her without warning, I mean my mum never even touched it! Stray cats can be really dangerous!

If you haven't had any success yet, try putting down some catnip. You shouldn't try to carry it barehanded though. If you get it nice and stoned, wrap it in a towel before you try to carry it. Make sure it's not a mama cat with babies down there though! You wouldn't want to take her away without her kittens.

I'de trap it. Talk to it through the cage, and take it to a shelter if you can't or won't take it yourself

Can you get some humane traps from your shelter? Do what Scob said and bait the cat onto it.
