I've noticed that there are color-specific shampoos available for brown dogs, white dogs, black dogs, etc.

Do these shampoos really make a big difference? What happens if you bathe a brown dog in a white dog shampoo?

I'm tempted to order a bottle out of sheer curiosity, but I figured I'd ask on here and see if anyone else has tried them. Besides, they don't seem to have a shampoo for "beige/blonde dog with black mask and ears" or "brindle dog with white-ticked accents." ;)

I knew that they had those types of shampoos for horses. I always used the Sorrel one, I thought they were kind of neat. But I have no idea what would happen if you used the wrong colour! LOL

I've used a shampoo meant for dogs with black coats before on Morgan & Winston, and it didn't really make much of a difference. They looked the same as when I used my regular shampoo. Lol...not sure though what would happen if you were to use a colour specific shampoo on a dog not of that colour.

I do. I work for a pet products company. If your not buying a shampoo with dyes in it (to dye the coat). Then they are using optical brighteners. It's a sales move. Each shampoo is pretty much the same formulation. They will brighten no matter what color dog you use them for.

I personally think the griminator cleans up all types of coats really nice so I would opt for buying some of that
