Yes. A serious one.
Please see your vet, and you may need a consult to a canine eye specialist.
Your dog may have eyelashes growing in the wrong place irritating the eye. If it does, and this is not addressed, it can scar the cornea permanently, resulting in blindness.
Not to mention the constant pain.
Time for a trip to your vet.

I agree...get her to the vet ASAP
I agree to what Red said. Also they may need to check her tear ducts. If they are clogged this will also cause a lot of tearing.
One of my dogs had a few eye conditions, 2 of which were just stated. Get her check as soon as you can by the vet. Keep us posted with the outcome.:)

i have taken Sammy to the vet and we got this ointment to put in her eyes to stop the tears. the vet told me it wasn't serious... but i don't think i agree with him because the ointment is not doing anything to help her tears at all!:(

Did the vet mention what is causing the problem?

Did the vet mention what is causing the problem?he told us that he is guessing it is because of clogged tear ducts and that her tears weren't flushing down through her nose like they should. But the ointment isn't doing her much good so im beginning to worry :(
You may want too take her to see Veterinarian Ophthalmologists. I'm not sure if you live in the US or Canada, if so then this link can help you find one close to you.

My dog had clogged tear ducts and the only way to fix them was to flush them out, which required him to be put under anesthesia. Ointment won't flush his tear ducts out.
My Papillon has no obvious eye conditions, but due to the size and shape of his eyes (they're very round and slightly prominent) there is a lot of tearing. Sometimes I think it is simply because he is so low to the ground and his eyes seem to be a magnet for dust, fuzzy stuff etc.

I thought she was very sick :o Thank you for all the information. I'll be sure to take her to the vet soon though :)

Ointment is generally to protect the cornea from rubbing lashes.
If it were my puppy, I would have an appt and be going to see a canine ophthalmologist as SOON AS POSSIBLE.
I can't see your puppy or her eyes so I really don't know if her tearing is the same type as my Papillon's. In any case I agree with Redyre, I would get her in to see a vet asap.

relieving news! so i took sammy to the vet a couple days ago and the vet says she is perfectly healthy! no inner eyelashes, scratches on the surface.. etc etc. The only problem is that her eye ducts aren't fully formed yet because of genetic issues. what a relief! thank you all for the suggestions and help! :)
