Currently 4 dogs (see the links in my sig!), One Parakeet (don't laugh, I'm fostering. Is actually going to live at my grandparents house. They "found" it outside of the day care I work at, starving. I didn't think he was going to make it but he has, and he never stops talking!), and a whole bunch of fish... 5 tanks... a 29g, a 10g, a 3g for a betta and some cories, and two 2.5g (one betta and the other is empty for now)
A guy from work is giving me a 55 gallon tank this weekend maybe.

All of my German Shepherds have been great buddies with my cats; so were the Jack Russells. I think a lot of it depends on letting the animals get acclimated to each other and making them feel secure. I've introduced most of mine as adults, since I've adopted or rescued all but one of my Shepherds, and only Bimmer, the one I have now, was adopted as a pup, and I've never had any problems, but I'd say it's much easier and more of a sure thing if you do get a puppy. Just make sure you supervise so that an overly inquisitive, nippy pup doesn't get it's eyes scratched. It also helps if your cat tends to be calm, too.

Sometimes you just have to leave them alone and let them figure things out for themselves. Just make sure that you don't leave them alone together unsupervised if they actually want to fight. Most of the time, though, dogs and cats who live together will come to a truce even if they don't particularly like each other.

When I'm introducing two cats who aren't particularly thrilled about each other I load them up on catnip. It's amazing how friendly they get when they're both stoned. (g)

My family is made up of "dog people" so to say... my dad isn't a big cat person (to put it lightly) so we've always had dogs. anyways when you asked about that it reminded me of my friend's kitten that she got about a month or so ago. he's adorable, black w/ white socks and his name is zues. she has three dogs, a corgi (cricket), a golden (tanner) and a little white dog (teddy).. sorry i can't remember his breed. but to the point, they are absolutely HILARIOUS. on zues' part mainly because he'll pounce on teddy's tail and it is sooo funny. all the dogs get along with the cat really well... sometimes all the dogs gang up on the cat (all in good fun), but he can get places they can't so it all works out. i think it's really just how you introduce them to each other... good luck! :)

OMG I adore those ragdoll cats. My Aunt (distant Aunt) breeds them. She brought one with her when she came up from New York for a family get together. I fell in love with them!

Maddie - 2yr old buff female Am. Cocker Spaniel (luv of my life, lol)
Carly - 7mo (or so) blonde and white Shih Tzu I was supposed to be just fostering is officailly mine.
Nicki - almost 13, tri female Shetland Sheepdog. Obese and arthritc, honestly she's not doing so well health wise. Actually my Dad's dog, lives with me part time.
Wilber - gueanea pig, rescued. Long hair albino. Im told they're called Shelties, which is sort of ironic to me.
I also have a frog that I found in my basement. We guess that he got in there through the sump pump. We're fattening him up and I'm going to let him go out by the campground. He's truely wild. Afriad of people (which is good) and a good hunter of live foods (would I feed him anything else?). Actually don't know if its a him. Not naming him. Thing keeps me up half the night!

George the parakeet went to live with my grandparents, finally. Roxy got adopted out. My mom got rid of Minnie (other part-time dog [chihuahua] lol) I think thats it.

oops! a 29gal tank with 2 angel fish and a snail the size of my fist (no joke), a 10gal over populated with fancy guppies (do they ever stop?!?!) and two 2.5gals with a purple betta and a crowntail betta

Well, we got Jake (heeler/lab) 3 weeks ago. He's now 11 weeks old. We have Misty, the cat who has waaaayyy too many toes per foot and a wicked temper towards anyone outside her family. Rheis is our 3 legged cat who, up until a week ago laid the law down for Jake (who is now laying down the law). Two fish (female beta and lemon tetra). I have 2 cats one who is 2 years old a female (named Gina) who is every bit a cat. She has the additude of a cat only likes one person a day and if you ain't the person she likes that day you better watch out. I have a 9 month old cat named Milo. He's the BIGGEST momma's boy you will ever meet. He is too affectionate almost to the point of annoying. You can't sit down without him jumping in your lap purring and licking your face. I have 2 sugar gliders (both males) named Bo and Luke that I got for Christmas in 2004 so they are less than a year old. Then we have our pooch, Mack, who is a 7 month old 40 pound pitbull/american bulldog mix. We bought him from a breeder who breed pitbulls and american bulldogs. He thinks he's a lap dog. He's going to get HUGE. His mother was 75 pounds and his father was 130 pounds so he's probably going to get about 100 pounds or a little better. Plus we have a tank with some african cichlids (fish) and a GIANT algea eater fish too. He's 8 inches and he's REALLY ugly!

I am jealous of your sugar gliders..if they are anything like the bush babies i worked with in the tropical habitat at the Kansas City Zoo...oh oh i wish i could see one just once. I use to run up and spend my whole break with the bush babies..they just fascinated me..the would lift one leg up so you could "scratch" with one finger underneath and then they would spring from the ceiling to your head to their branch. I have seen picstures of sugar gliders and they are jus beautiful!!! What are their personalities like and how to you have them housed? Glad you have a lap baby too..the biggest babies make the best babies ever!
How big is your algae eater? I use to have to take mine into the fish store eventually and trade for a smaller one..isn't it amazing how much faster they grow then the rest of the fish..i always wondered what their final size was suppose to be, but never looked it up..since you like tropicals.don't ever be fooled into buyin that tadpole of the african frog..nobody warned me and i did. It was cute when it was little..but when it started costing more than the dogs to feed i had a problem. I called many stores and they wouldn't take it..I finally found one that did, but that was only because the owner was on vacation!

I have a six-year-old, brindle female APBT named Neva. Our newest dog addition is Gunnar, as of today Gunnar is 12 weeks old and he is a GSD. I also have three bunnies. Fergi is a two-year-old female aquouti chestnut colored Mini-Lop. Samara is a three-month-old Flemish Giant/Mini-lop mix. Fergi is her mom. Then I have Diva, she is a five-month-old, steel gray Flemish Giant and already tips the scales at 17lbs!

well I have my guys in a HUGE five foot tall three foot wide cage. They don't have really good personalities they are sort of moody at times, for the most part they keep to themselves. My algea eater is 8 inches long about, and he's really ugly! We got him when he was 5 inches long from a petstore for free. yeah I'm glad he is a lap dog, but it's gonna be hard when he's full grown to sit on my lap though! Yeah I'm not a frog person, I almost bought one and then the kid that worked at the store warned me that they are a lot of trouble so I didn't get him.

1 dog (skye a cross alsation, blue merl)
5 rabbits (bugsie,foxy,candi,will,willow)
3 fish (goldfish, havent named them yet theyre new any ideas plz tell me!)
2 tortoises (horsfield, squirt and digger)
also we have mice in our garage but not sure whether they count!

Wow, I just read someone has 19 dogs, and someone else has 25..thats how many cats I have.

I have 12 dogs: 7 red dachshunds, 1 dachshund mix, 1 black chihuahua, 1 tan/white rat terrier/jack russel/chihuahua, 1 black/white rat terrier/chihuahua mix we think, and 1 black longhaired chihuahua mix.

25 rescued cats of different ages, colors, sizes, breed mixes, etc.. 6 kittens (fosters). one is deaf.

22 fancy rats, many different variaties including a hairless.

2 fancy mice

1 three toed box turtle

and 4 fish.
