Lovie, my shih tzu is in the middle of crate training. Her crate was fitted to her however I still think she's tinkling in it. The max time she's in there is 4 hours. She is a little over 5lbs right now. It's not all the time though.

Also, she is still yelping when she gets put in there. How long will it take for her to get accustomed to it? I occasionally see her go in and get her toys out sitting down in it for a split second but then she gets out. I'm thinking she thinks she is going to be closed in if she stays in there..

Another thing, I've been extremely bad on letting her sleep with me lately. She's really good in the bed and sleeps the entire time. I get up anyway to go to the bathroom so I take her out at the same time. Is there anything wrong with this if she hasn't had any accidents on the bed?

Can you tell she's spoiled?

How do you "think" she is piddling in it??You see any pee??

Typically you are not supposed to let your dog sleep w/ you, this whole alpha thing, but many people do anyways. I do!(lol) however, you have a small, yet can be stubborn breed, it'd pry be a good idea to keep it crate trained and not sleep with you as of yet.

The crying in the carte will stop.

The reason why I think she's "tinkling" in it is the towel is wet each time. But she also chews on the toys etc and gets them wet while I've watched her so it could be that. When I get her out of the crate each time, she goes tinkle outside so I can't figure it out. Should I put something down besides towels for now? I want her to be comfy.....

Yeah, we are in Puppy class at Petsmart every sunday am and let's just say I have the smallest dog (all the dogs are females) but Lovie has become the "alpha" of the group. How embarrasing!!! But she's doing good on her commands... Except bitting!

For a day or two I would put nothing in the crate and then see if the dog itself is wet when you pick them up or not. We did this to Wrigley for a couple of days when we thought he might have been peeing his towel--but didn't know if it was just from chewing on it or maybe a one time accident and he was fine (and thankfully was not wetting himself!)..dogs are fine without towels or beds--Wrigley loves most to sleep on the cool tile in the kitchen when it is hot as opposed to on the furniture.....
