Why do these things always happen Saturday night when the vet is closed Sunday? My 10 yr old beagle has runny eyes. The discharge is not really thick, except when she first wakes up from a nap. I first saw it this morning when I took her out of her cage. She has no discharge from her nose. She has no other symptoms, still eating, drinking and playing well. It seems almost like an allergy, especially since she was tearing around the yard and getting into some strange plants (nothing poisonous).
What can I do to help her? I have been wiping her eyes with a damp cloth. And antihistimine? But I am not sure of the dose. She doesn't seem all that uncomfortable, but it can't be fun having goop coming out of your eyes.
