Okay I know that you have you buffs, silvers, partis, and black and tans. But I have seen some American Cocker Spaniels that look almost identical to Lady from Lady and the Tramp. With the light redish brown body and dark brown ears and sometimes circles around the eyes. I was wondering what color that is considered and how do you get it? Is it rare? I am just curious I think its a pretty neat coat color.
Kinda like this but with out or less white.

The American Cocker Spaniel standard, in reference to coat...
Black Variety-Solid color black to include black with tan points. The black should be jet; shadings of brown or liver in the coat are not desirable. A small amount of white on the chest and/or throat is allowed; white in any other location shall disqualify.
Any Solid Color Other than Black (ASCOB)-Any solid color other than black, ranging from lightest cream to darkest red, including brown and brown with tan points. The color shall be of a uniform shade, but lighter color of the feathering is permissible. A small amount of white on the chest and/or throat is allowed; white in any other location shall disqualify.
Parti-Color Variety-Two or more solid, well broken colors, one of which must be white; black and white, red and white (the red may range from lightest cream to darkest red), brown and white, and roans, to include any such color combination with tan points. It is preferable that the tan markings be located in the same pattern as for the tan points in the Black and ASCOB varieties. Roans are classified as parti-colors and may be of any of the usual roaning patterns. Primary color which is ninety percent (90%) or more shall disqualify. Tan Points-The color of the tan may be from the lightest cream to the darkest red and is restricted to ten percent (10%) or less of the color of the specimen; tan markings in excess of that amount shall disqualify. In the case of tan points in the Black or ASCOB variety, the markings shall be located as follows:
A clear tan spot over each eye;
On the sides of the muzzle and on the cheeks;
On the underside of the ears;
On all feet and/or legs;
Under the tail;
On the chest, optional; presence or absence shall not be penalized.
Tan markings which are not readily visible or which amount only to traces, shall be penalized. Tan on the muzzle which extends upward, over and joins shall also be penalized. The absence of tan markings in the Black or ASCOB variety in any of the specified locations in any otherwise tan-pointed dog shall disqualify.

Colors that are not currently recognized with the AKC are becoming more and more popular, including roans, sables (probably more of what you're looking for), and merles

There are merles, roans, Parties with ticking (freckles), They come in a variety of colors.
When looking for a cocker stay away from Penny Creek lines.
What color or colors are you looking at that strike your fancy?
I may be able to help you locate a good breeder who has what you are looking for.

I didnt want to down her online but here it goes.
I was going to become a breeder and was going to have her mentor me. I went to her home to check things out and she had at least 50 dogs and pups.
She does show and does do her clearances but I am concerned with that as well. I happen to see her at our vet office and she was getting a second opinion on a hip exam. None of the techs at our vet office like her. She goes into the room and holds the dogs hips in so they will pass thier hip certification. Thats a big no NO!
I also talked to a couple of out of state breeders and they dont like her as well. I will quote," she is trying to populate the whole world with her dogs'.
She is high class puppy mill. Im not impressed at all. Jim wasnt either. He went with me to check out her place. I have never seen a reputable breeder with 50 dogs and constant multiple litters.
And her so called rescue dogs are usually pups of her own that didnt pass a certification and calls them rescues because they were returned.
That is why.

Any breeders that are breeding for these rare and incorrect colors should be HIGHLY looked into and researched before ever considering them. In cockers, you WILL find responsible breeders that do breed the sables, and sometimes the merles and roans, but more than often the breeders are simply breeding them for the money and the sake of them being "rare".
Watch out, do your research.

Sables use to be allowed to show,but then the color became a fault(i'm guessing the dogs of this color where doing to much winning so the standard was changed)

I echo what Tessa said...
Here's a link that explains when and why sables aren't a part of the breed standard
