Pig went to the vet for vaccines (parvo,Dhp,Bordetella) and about an hour later he started crying, when I lifted him from his travel crate (it kind of doubles as his sanctuary) he let out a little whelp, as if in pain. He has been lying on the ground with no energy at all. Is this normal ? he weighs 8.5 lbs and is 12 weeks old.

i wouldn't call it normal, unfortunately its not all that uncommon, but your pup should be checked out just the same to make sure it doesn't get worse. Most times pups recover just fine from it, but you have to be careful when they go to re-vaccinate if you even chose to go that route in the future.

I did call the vet or rather he called me to tell me Pig has coccidia sp? He said not a big deal for either. He said the coccidia is common in puppies and he has medicine to give him once a day for two weeks. I told him Pig was crying and he said that he was probably sore and he would get over it.
He's prob. right but, I get nervous b/c dogs can't say what's hurting them. frustrating

Yes, there are some side effects in vaccines. I would google it. Is this the first set of shots? A lot of vets around here are starting to redo the way they do their vaccines. I highly recommend the book Natural Health for Dogs and Cats. There is a very large chapter in the book about vaccinations. Your vet should have never given the pup vaccinations while he had coccidia. His immune system is being suppressed right now.

I strongly agree with this statement.
