I was reading my latest issue of Dog Fancy in the "Gallery of Breeds" section and came across a breed called a Boerboel. I have never seen or even heard of this kind of dog before. I have been reading this magazine for a couple of years and have never come across it in the magazine. Has anyone ever heard of this breed or is it new??? Can anyone tell me about this absoutely beautiful dog? Thanks!

My Breeders husband has 2, he just got the 2nd one so I have not seen her yet. The male I saw was huge, very nice dog. My corsos will drool, but nothing like this boerboel! I had slime 2 feet long hanging from my arms after petting him,it was a hot day though. Beautiful dog, he reminded me of a lion.

They are a South African mastiff, and are very handsome dogs. I live in South Africa, so see lots of them around and as long as they are in the right hands they are wonderful dogs. They do need socialising and training and make excellent guard dogs.

oh i love Boerbols..theres a male brindle that comes to the dog park now and then, very beautiful dogs...yes they tend to drool a lot when they get excited or want food lmao

Wow, i've never heard of them but they are stunning dogs. I love their size :)
