Unbelievable the stuff I come across on the internet.
A diary of a contact with some guy selling dog meat.
Some pictures MAY be graphic to some, no blood or anything.

It said somewhere on the site that it's in Hawaii. I thought it's illegal?

Unfortunately (at least to me) it's not uncommon for dogs and cats to still be considered "food" by many people. I can understand it some in cultures where that has always been the norm, but it's just not that necessary in most places. There is plenty to eat here without eating dogs and cats. I think that many who do that in North America do it just because of the sensationalism of it.

Years back there was a guy who used to have a website (he moved it around because he got so many complaints, and now I haven't seen it for years) where he actually described in detail how to obtain, butcher and cook pets. He recommended lying to people to get their give-away pets.

I did a quick search and came up with deliciousdogs.com, which is a site promoting dog meat (they say they don't promote it, but c'mon - it's obvious!). I did a 'whois' search on it and it is owned by some guy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. So anyone living in Ottawa might want to keep a close watch on their pets.

The Chinese and Koreans routinely eat dog meat. I guess for them it's no different to us eating beef and lamb. However, my main objection is that in these countries, they believe the meat is more tender if the animals are stressed and have an adrenalin surge at the time of death. So, they beat them or hang them to death, and often skin them alive. It's barbaric. Pity there wasn't some way of bringing this to world attention in the lead up to the Beijing Olympics.

Thats just terrible! Notice how the guy indicated the chihauha was his pet, and he tried to stop the pit bull from killing it, but he still seemed more converned about the sale of dog meat afterwards then the fact that his pet had been killed. Very sick people...

My town has a large Hmong (Sp?) population and they routinely eat dogs and cats. There is no law against it here, as long as the animal is killed in a humane fashion.

This is very sad. I'm not against people eating animal meat as long as the animal is killed in a humane fashion. I get upset though when the animals are tortured just to make the meat taste better. The line should be drawn somewhere...
