does anyone one know why my 3 month old puppy is losing all his fur (more then normal shedding). He has a 2 year old brother and prefers to eat the grown up food instead of his puppy food. Could it be that he is not getting the proper nutrients since he is not eating puppy food?

It could be that he's not getting proper nutrients. It is very important that puppies be fed puppy food and not adult food. Try a different puppy food and don't allow him near the adult food until he is old enough. I kept my puppies on puppy food until they were about a year old.

Take him to the vet immediately. It could be mange, which is serious and requires treatment ASAP.

I agree with Gempress, it could be mange.

To the vet to rule out any kind of bacterial or viral causes, then to Mordy's site (The Dog Food Project - you can find the link at the bottom of any of her posts, easily found in the Dog Food section) and read up on nutrition and find the right food for your pup! :)

It could be mange like Gem said OR if you are feeding him out of plastic dishes, it could be that hes having a reaction to the plastic.
We had a Sheltie puppy from one litter have a reaction to plastic dishes - from then on it was metal dishes and he was completely fine.
But, he had lost all the fur on his little face - poor pup. Good thing it grew back quickly.

In normal cases YES thats true but an Irish Wolfhound pup cant have puppy food. Puppy food has lots of protein in it and too much protein is damaging to his bones because he's growing so fast, about an inch a week and gaining several pounds a week. Anyway.. that probably didnt have anything to do with the post but I had to put that tid bit of info in :D
I hope your pup gets better :)
