View Full Version : A question about my dogs ear.

Ever since we got our dog, she's had one ear that was always red. We would put anti-biotic cream on it and it usually goes away. But lately it's been worse. She has been losing the hair around it, her eye is red, and her paw is losing hair also. I'm pretty sure it's from scratching her ear considering it's all on the left side. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to treat it?

Lexus had mange once. She lost allllll the hair around her face and neck. She had to be put on medication for it. Talk to you vert first and foremost though.

Ouch !!!! Could be mange , but definiately needs vetting !

I've seen dogs with ears like that which are secondary to an allergy eg atopy, but usually both ears are affected. Vet is a good idea.

Please go to the vet as soon as possible.
If it is mange - IT WILL SPREAD without proper treatment!
Is that a hole on the top of the dogs ear flap? I can't quite make it out. Take her to the vet for proper treatments.

she looks like a dog who has had chronic ear infections. she really needs to see a vet and have the ear swabbed and be given the appropriate medications.
