I am not sure how much money this is in american or canadian dollars?? Nice to see though that some people love there dogs as much as children and would pay a ransom to get them back.
The article indicates dog ransoms are happening more often these days.

Last night when Riot and I did some Search and Rescue training, we put him into Dantes crate (I didn't have mine on me) so he could cool down - we left all doors and windows including back hatch open so he could relax while we did gridwork with Dante(his partner).
During the whole gridwork it took about 40min+ and the whole time we were in an open field away from Riot. I was so scared that someone would try and take him lol We are getting "Search and Rescue Dog in Training" signs as well as locks for the kennels while we are out in field.

It's in European pounds I believe and I've no idea how much it translates to American.
It's really sad that this dognapper had a kid involved too.
Thats terrible, poor dog and poor people :(. I'm so glad the got the dog back though.
£500 = $875
