We just went through two acl surgeries on the same leg in 2 months. The first one broke and had to be redone. In may, first surgery, her blood sugar was fine. It's a week after the second one and the leg seems to be fine but she has been drinking a bunch and peeing by the buckets. I took her in yesterday and the sugar was way high. The Vet kept her all day and rechecked and it had gone up even more at the end of the day. He gave her a shot and I take her back this morning. I'm a little confused on the shots and her eating. Shes still not eating the RD but seems to want to eat other dog food when she will eat. He says if she doesn't eat not to give her shot and if she does give it to her. I thought it was a case of if she doesn't get the shot she'll get worse and etc. Does anybody else go through this and can you help me to get the hang of what needs to be done and the danger of her not eating and not getting the shots and all and how long until a change for the better.
