This may sound like a stupid question but which bones are ok to give to dogs? Beef, Lamb, Pork? Obviously not Poultry bones!! The pet shop sells deep fried pork bones but they are all greasy and smell funny, and I wouldn't want to chew on one so I don't see why Gus should have to!!! Plus I think Gus is Jewish!! He gets a poorly tummy with pork!!

Just for chewing, my dogs get beef bones.

Thank you! Do you give them raw or cooked?

Raw, because they clean the teeth and get some good meat with it. The bones I use for chews are pretty thick, so if they were cooked they probably wouldn't splinter. With smaller bones (chicken bones, etc. just for food) don't cook because they'll splinter and could injure the dog.

You can actually order bones from places like J-B Pet, too, but you can get them at the local butcher's. http://www.jbpet.com/Shopping/category2.asp?catalog_name=JBWholesale&category_name=BonesNatural&page=1
