well, I have a super cute little pup here, gonna' be 10 weeks tomorrow- she's sort of a 'designer dog" (haha didn't know that when we got her) but I'm the first to admit she's a great little mutt! just part of an accidental litter, at a place that finds homes for such unwanted ones...anyway, I know for sure she's 1/2 peke and 1/2 chi- and she looks like a mix of those 2, but she has a long neck! Isn't that odd ? It's sort of...growing as she does....Don't both pekes and chi's have rather short necks? I wonder if it's possible to have more than one dad? b/c I saw mama dog...
Not that it matters, but i was curious.... I love my little monster anyway!(definitely a feisty little girl)

That's our family joke too! She's part giraffe...:D actually, they're pretty positive it was a full chihuahua, they had a male waiting to be placed also, I think it might have been dad, I was under the impression they just got unwanted animals dumped on them all the time! he was the same color as babes, too, which puts him in my suspicion, but these weren't BYB's I know b/c when we went to pick up pup, Mom had just been spayed-she'd stopped feeding them early... I'd heard it;s possible for one mama to have mutliple dads for the same litter....that was some mama,with a giraffe though!

I wouldn't think it very likely to be 2 fathers.
My thoughts would be that either mum or dad are crossbred somewhere.....

But maybe your little one just has a long neck and there is no reason for it?

My eldest Bailey is 15 months old Purebred ESBT, he is well above height and weight for this breed...........but i know that he is purebred as i have seen both parents and he is KC Registered..........he is just a freak of nature so to speak :D

Actually, Chis have sort of long necks, depending on what they are compared to. Some longer than others. Either way, she is a doll!

Thanks! I guess I like my little 'freak' of breeding, I'm kinda' partial to muttley mixes...:p that's interesting, I didn't know some chi's could have longer necks, oh well, the rest of her grows in odd ways, so maybe her body will catch up....:D

and yes, dogs can have more than one father. if you only saw one there and you know the female couldn't have gotten out to another one, then it's a safe bet there was only one dad and you've got a long neck baby :)
