Hello all! Been browsing this forum for a couple months and decided to sign up finally. There is definitely lots of useful information on this board, and hopefully I can contribute my share. The dog in my avatar is my Native American Indian Dog. His name is Una (ooo-na), and he was born the first of the year.

Welcome! Una is absolutely stunning!:) I'd love to hear more about his breed - this is the 1st I've heard of a Native American Indian dog.

From what I understand, its a breed that is meant to look like the "original" Native American Indian Dog. I think the breed consists of 1 or 2 reservation dogs from out West, Alaskan Malamute, German Sherpard, and a breed called a Chinook. There seem to be a lot of questions about the founding breeder and what actually makes up this breed....he does look very wolf-like at times. I think there is still too much variation to have a breed standard and all that, but I love my pooch. He is not dog aggressive at all, and although wary of strangers, he is very good with people. More information can be found if you google "majestic view kennels". I didn't get him from there, but that is the founding breeder.
