Linseed Oil for Shedding?

Has anyone heard of adding some linseed oil to your dog's food to reduce shedding? Has anyone tried it, does it work?

Well. Linseed/flaxseed is really good for their coats because of the omega oils. It will help make it glossier. But I don't know how it helps with shedding. Be warned that this type of oil is toxic if heated and goes rancid very quickly.

i use salmon oil capsules for my dogs coat, i add it to her food...is this ok..
