Apparently My dog has E cloli.

Hi, yeah i'm a noob :p lol (please move if it's in the wrong forum!)

My dog (cross/mut breed) has had a poorly paw. It was swelling, and was a little red, and she used to lick and gnaw at it, we had some pink stuff to bathe it in and it has got better, but it has not healed. The vet took a swab, and said today that she had E coli. I thought at first that was to do with the stomach, and some other people i know agreed. We reckon that the vet it dragging on (and my mum can't afford it) either that, or the swabbs have been mixed up.

Can you suggest anything? (sorry if i spelt Ecoli wrong.)

E.coli is can be in humans and animals without causing any harm in the GI tract. It can be shed in feces. your dog could have had a small open wound in his paw and stepped in "it" so to speak.

My thoughts would be to get a second opinion. sounds kind of weird.

That could have happened, whatszmatter, but still,like Saje said, it is a little weird, but we will be going for a second opinion soon :D

Try soaking it in warm epsom salts solution.
