View Full Version : Really bad breath.
I feed my dogs barf diet, so the regularly get rec bones to chew on, and their teeth are lovely and clean, but recently I have noticed thatone of the dogs has really bad breath, it smells like s**t:eek: I have checked to see if he has any broken teeth, his gums look fine, he is eating fine (and nothing different to usual) any idea of what I can give him to make it smell sweet again lol.

is the smell acidic? My dog sometimes has bad breath that smells acidic, he is on a barf diet as well. Usually its because of a stomach upset and it gets back to normal in a day or 2.

Check his teeth. Does he go outside unsupervised sometimes? I've found out that when one of my dogs has bad breath it's from eating stuff in the yard.

It could be a inner ear infection too. Often that will give a dog bad breath.

Is this a dog who is (or recently has been) teething?

BARF stands for "biologically appropriate raw food" or "bones and raw food". it's a method of feeding where the major part of the diet consists of raw meat and bones.
